Name: Asher Systems Research building

Brief: The Asher Systems Research building is a large glass-and-steel beast that sits two streets off the center of Neo-C's downtown.

Detailed: The Asher Systems Research building is one of the larger buildings in Neo-C, and is certainly one of the interesting when it comes to appearance. At it's highest point, the dual antenna array located on building A, it reaches a height of nearly eight hundred feet above surface. The total depth below ground if officially two hundred feet, according to the original architectual specs kept by the city. It is widely assumed though that the building extends much farther than that, and it is almost certain that the Jonathan Fiedler, director of research, has had the building expanded. The behemoth squats over an entire city block, and it is made up of four buildings, the shortest of them being 500 feet tall, and all four interconnecting via numerous walkways. The buildings themselves are made of black steel, and the glass is all heavily mirrored and most likely bulletproof. None have ever dared to test them, and the original architects are all within the company and not speaking.

The activities within the building are primarily research, as far as anyone knows. On the official city records for the building its intended function is listed as "research and development of mission-critical devices and techniques." The wording on this appears to be intentionally vague and more than a little suspect. There are undoubtedly many, many projects going on inside, in many different fields. Rare information leaks have shown that Asher is developing weapons within the building, though there are also other technologies being developed. These leaks nearly always spawn mass protests of the practices within the building, but the city cannot find evidence enough to shut them down, and likely would not have the manpower regardless. How ever many problems these leaks cause, they are few and far between, and the leaker is always caught, and presumably killed. It is certain that they are never seen or heard from again.
