Name: Crystal City

Brief: Crystal City is the name of a district within Neo-C. It occupies the region from roughly Carrol to Logan. Accessible via mag-lev and powered highway.

Seven words: historic, crowded, ancient, ruin, prosperous, strict, gangs

Detailed: In order to preserve their common heritage, the cities of Lancaster, Carrol, and Logan all decided to combine under a common name. There were several reasons for the merger, including gang warfare between Lancaster and Logan and the rapid encroachment of Neo-C. The name is derived from Lancaster's historic glass production.

Elevator Street bounds the district to the north, named for a former landmark owned by RalCorp. A low-topped complex surrounds the elevator now, though the top still rises above surrounding buildings.

Within Crystal City one can find the Wall, a 400-foot sheer stone face. It is scaleable via the backside, and is marked off as a park. Unbeknownst to many, there is an entrance carved into the lower face, but it is well hidden, and those that enter do not return.

Crystal City gets progressively hillier as one moves south, and anyone wanted by an area gang should beware. Snipers are common, though innocents are rarely harmed in these attacks.

Transportation to the city can be attained via mag-levs, or on one of the few powered highways. Most other roads within the area are rough, and those who don't need to drive seldom do. Anti-IC laws are strictly enforced, as are all pollution laws.

Police exist primarily in the populated areas, and wear standard duraplastics with mechanical firearms.

The tech level within the district is often low to mid. Robotics are highly uncommon, and biotech is often frowned upon, to the extent that many people here are "pure." Weapons stores seldom carry anything more advanced than mechanical firearms, though an electronic may slip through now and again.

Between Lancaster and Logan lay the Wilds. Various interesting rock formations can be found there, though roads through the area are non-existent or extremely poor, and only the main route from Lancaster to Logan is powered. Many gangs and other less-than-legal organizations have staked a claim there.

Gangs are fairly prevalent here, though like the police they have mostly mechanical firearms. However, gangs who target the right people can have any sort of weapon available.
